What we liked
- + 3-way, 3-driver design with a super tweeter gives a wide soundstage for a pair of bookshelf speakers.
- + 5.12-inch woofer in a bass reflex enclosure boosts low-end output.
- + Compact bookshelf design is listed for small spaces and Hi-Res Audio, and Sony is an established brand.
Trade-offs
- - Passive speakers, so a receiver or amplifier is required but not included.
- - Priced above the budget wood-cabinet pair it replaces, and the listing gives few details on build or power handling.
