What we liked
- + Pair of 8-inch 2-way in-ceiling speakers from Yamaha, an established audio brand, so one purchase covers two channels.
- + Rated at 140 W maximum and 50 W nominal into 8 ohms, which suits typical AV receiver amplification.
- + Dome tweeter with a 3.5 kHz crossover and frequency response listed up to 28 kHz for clear high frequencies.
Trade-offs
- - Sold as a pair in white only, so a full 5 or 7 speaker overhead layout means buying more than one set.
- - The listing is mostly a spec sheet with little installation guidance, and mounting depth needs checking before cutting.
